Powervar Strengthens Commitment to Retail Sector, Promotes Industry Veteran
David Sansenbach to National Account Manager, Retail Technologies

WAUKEGAN, IL, March 1, 2022 – Powervar appoints David Sansenbach as National Account Manager, Retail Technologies to fortify the company’s commitment to its customers in the retail technology and restaurant markets, who provide and rely on mission-critical point-of-sale (POS) systems and other sensitive electronic equipment. In his new role, Sansenbach will leverage over 25 years of sales leadership, business development, and sales engineering experience in the power protection and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) space to support continued customer satisfaction and business continuity for a sector experiencing rapid digitalization of the customer experience, and a subsequently heightened reliance on electric power.

Since beginning his tenure with AMETEK Power Quality Solutions in 1995, Sansenbach has closely supported strategic partnerships and business development initiatives across a range of markets for Powervar. Throughout his time with the company, he has developed intimate practical knowledge of how to best deploy the proper power solutions to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, increase customer profits, and defend sensitive microprocessor-based systems from everyday utility power. In his most recent role, as Western Regional Manager for Powervar, Sansenbach worked with the lab and analytical instruments sector where he gained an acute appreciation for the importance of precision in equipment performance. These experiences have well-prepared him to support the product, service, and business development initiatives for Powervar’s POS partners in the retail technology and restaurant space.

“Powervar has been a dominant manufacturer and service provider in the retail industry for over 35 years. In this new role, David will uphold our mission to provide high quality power solutions that alleviate the susceptibility of POS systems to power problems,” comments Chris Walsh, Director of Sales for Powervar. “David brings a litany of experience in the UPS and power management space and will be integral in reducing downtime, increasing profitability, and enhancing the reliability and longevity of our customers’ systems.”

“Ultimately, power is power. I’ve learned to combat the utility power glitches across a range of applications, and now moving to the POS sector, I’m ready to help protect the different commodities. While retail technology presents its own challenges, like lockups at critical transaction times, I’m ready to partner with our existing and new customers alike to tackle them,” offers Sansenbach. “I am incredibly eager to get started with our existing clients in the retail and restaurant sectors, as well as to foster new relationships with other OEMs in the retail space.”
